Challenging Topics

I think about ideas that are challenging - to try to find the best answers or explanations.

These are classically difficult topics for which there are no simple answers. And yet I believe there are answers, even though they may themselves be challenging.

There are many, many things in life for which we simply do not have complete information or understanding. The answers themselves may contain paradoxes or mysteries. In a context of a loving and good God, however, that can be OK. •••

A mystery is that which we believe has a good answer, however, we don't yet have access to the answer. Essentially, a mystery carries the promise of a more full answer later from someone in whom we already have trust based on good evidence.

For instance for a long time in the bible there was a mystery about how God would solve the problem of human relationships with God regarding sin. The answer to this mystery was revealed in Jesus. (Colossians 1:26-27, Ephesians 1:7-10)

(This list is still short; I intend to add more.)
