Oct 30, 2007 - Limits of Science

A recent article spawned a discussion of science and how it finds or falsifies truth. This one posting was quite good as it talked about limits of the scientific process.

Notes

The article that initiated things talked about investigators into paranormal phenomena. The guys used various low-tech equipment to try to document existence of ghosts.

I strongly recommend against pursuing information about the paranormal. I believe the paranormal exists, but it is not beneficial to get knowledge about it or especially to become involved in it.

A tame example by analogy: It isn't wise to buy gray-market products. You may be in need of help with the product in the future and can't get it. Or much worse: the product isn't real, it doesn't work and you are stuck! It is best to buy the genuine article and have a relationship with the original manufacturer (God).
